Childbirth Education class - $200
Prepare for birth, breast or bottle feeding, and the transition to parenthood with a 3-hour private class that you can use to cover whatever questions or concerns you have. Don’t know where to start or what to ask? I will come prepared with general curriculum that covers everything from the labor process and variations thereof to comfort measures and positions to what to expect with your new baby. You will finish my class with a head full of information to guide your labor and parenting choices and a 70+ page reference book to review what we cover on your own time.
So what does a childbirth education class look like?
A visit in the privacy of your home or over Zoom for 2 people that lasts 3 hours
Discussion of your birthing, feeding, and parenting preferences
Explanation of typical labor progression, variations of normal, induction, and cesarean section; comfort measures, including positions, movement, use of water, mental relaxation, breathing, and more; the immediate postpartum and coming weeks with your new baby; and how to choose between breast and bottle feeding or how to combine them!
The roles that each member of your care team plays—doctor or midwife, nurse or midwife’s assistant, birth doula, postpartum doula, and lactation specialist
Review of what types of preferences are important to be written down for your care team and what can be omitted because it’s standard practice
A chance to get answers to all of your questions!
